For those of you fortunate enough to own modular hardware and Ableton Live Suite, Ableton has released a free pack of CVTools. CVTools is a set of Max for Live devices which allows interaction with Modular hardware via a DC coupled interface (ES-8 for example). Since Ableton will route CV signal internally, it is also possible to use the tools with the Audulus plugin although currently it only supports 2 channels of I/O. Hopefully that will change and the CVTools pack will allow additional flexibility with the Audulus AU.
