Asymmetric Saturator
I built this to use in the resonant equalizer, but thought it might be useful on it’s own. It is a soft-clip device that limits output to -1 to 1 but does so in an asymmetric way, similar to the clipping you would find in a JFET or vacuum tube. Unlike the uJFET, which has a mathematical model of a JFET transfer function, this uses a spline node to create the asymmetry, so it is very efficient. There are trimmers internally to adjust the bias and gain if desired. Because it is asymmetric, there is a DC offset to the output, so it may be advisable to use a DC blocker node if this is a concern.
