First Skiff Plot

Yesterday I was playing with Neutron and iPad (for effects)

This is only a basic patch on Neutron, Keystep and TB Reverb.

Needs a more modulation, but Neutron itself is capable to do a lot of things.

Maybe, like everyone, that I need is a Maths

And with that, @sinnerencia was enlightened.

I was looking at stackables and stars yesterday. Probably the simplest way to go, at least for passive mults.

Started work on my case:

Oh man, this is pretty exciting!

The Synthrotek rails and brackets seem to be pretty well made. I opted for the end brackets because they give you the correct spacing rail to rail and I won’t have to screw through the outside of the case. I’m not planning any fancy joinery so it shouldn’t take too long to get it finished.

So basically you just have some optional sanding and staining and you are ready to go?

All glued up! Unfortunately I’ve got to wait until tomorrow for it to dry before I can sand and finish it. Bummer.

Well it’s finished (except for the drying). Power supply is installed and I think it turned out pretty nice. I’ll test it out tomorrow. The rails, end brackets, screws and washers came to $50.18 including shipping. The uZeus with 3000 mA brick was $128.84. I already had the finish and some of the wood. I think I spent about $16.00 for misc. materials. All up about $200.

Man, the finish looks awesome!

Very close to the price of the TipTop’s Mantis.

I see the Mantis priced at $355. Of course it’s a much bigger case at 208 HP vs. 84 for mine. I looked at a Mantis but it was really just too big for my needs.

Tip Top Mantis is still an excellent deal, but the woodgrain of a home made case is just too cool.

Everything works great! Now for some Audulus/analog sounds.

ES-8! Very happy for you.

Looking great! Looks like you allowed for some good depth on there too :+1:

Absolutely awesome setup!

Yeah, @robertsyrett suggested I make it deep enough to hold one of the older Doepfer modules. I had some 6" oak boards which are 5.5’ wide so I decided to use the full width. Probably overkill but you never know.

Overkill is what you want. I made mine just barely big enough to hold the ES-8. It’s super tight and actually doesn’t fit in all of the positions because I measured poorly. I have to be very aware of the depth of any new modules I buy or build now. A very wise suggestion indeed.
