Click sound in most basic patch

I conducted some more “listening experiments” and here is what I found…

At a combined attack + decay time of 0.01136 seconds, which is approximately 5 cycles at 440Hz I start to hear the pitch/note.

This is also approximately 10 cycles at 880Hz.

If I start lowering the cycles (combined attack-decay time) below this threshold the signal begins to sound more like a click than the pitch it’s set to.

If I make the attack 0 and the decay time 0.01136 the pitch is less discernible (sounds more like a click).

I am not sure how to interpret these findings [it’s 1am here and I’m quite burnt out]… but this is roughly the time threshold of hearing pitches for 440 and 880 (with equal attack and decay) for me.
