It would be cool to be able to build something like this for Audulus that not only had mappable knobs/sliders/etc but also had a patch interface that somehow sends MIDI messages to automatically connect modules together.
The patch cables wouldn’t have any audio or CV flowing through them - they would basically be dummy plugs that tell Audulus “connect this to that.” It would be a much cheaper solution that doesn’t need a ton of expensive audio IO.
Probably a far off daydream, but something to consider.
