Text module - note display
  • This is the first module based on my research into displaying text in Audulus. It's a two character display that shows the current note. Kind of a proof of concept. At this point I'm not sure how practical the text display will be, it's pretty CPU intensive. This module only has support for A through G on the first digit and a sharp and flat symbol on the second. The display's themselves are not limited but the encoders are only 8 characters to save CPU. R, G. B inputs set the color, the sharp/flat toggle determines whether sharps or flats are displayed and the input accepts a 1 per octave signal with 0=A440. I have already completed a larger encoder that displays 48 characters, and I'm working on an 8 character display. Still trying to work out a scheme that doesn't require quite so much CPU.

WOW that looks super intense. Also a really fun visual patch.

  • I can do a neat scrolling display, but I'm not sure how useful it will be in practice. Even so, it's fun to fool with.
